what do say to taking chances...?

Happy Thursday!

...well, the day's almost over. I can't help it if i'm a night owl, though! :)

All I can say is... thank goodness it's Friday tomorrow! Me being "ready" for this week to be over would definitely be an understatement.

Anyways, moving on to the good stuff.

I have been on this whole "50s kick" lately and been playing around with my makeup and hair. You know, beehives, red lipstick, and swingy skirts... all of that. Today, I kept it pretty simple. I had been messing around with this bright pink lipstick that CoverGirl's colormatching assessment has sworn I could pull off and thought I do a little bit of hairplay too! Check me out below...

Cute, no?

I can't even remember what I was thinking here... maybe I was trying to look alluring??? Idk, but I don't think it was working, lol. Here go a few more...

What do y'all think about this pink lipstick, though? Can I rock this??? Maybe you need to see something a little bit closer...

[Hahaha... my lips are so freakin huge!]

Now what do you think???

Have a good night every one! ♥

... just in case you were wondering, that's my skeptical face above!  :P

cheap thrill monday!

Yes.

It's me.

In the flesh [sort of...], if you count photos as in the flesh!

Oh... how I have missed the blogging world!

For anyone still watching this space, I'd like to present to you....

Wet N' Wild's new MegaProtein mascara in Very Black!

[Sorry the picture is so fuzzy, the flash wasn't cooperating with the white packaging...]

Saying this stuff is awesome is an understatement! I put on just a few coats and looked like I had on falsies! Check it out for yourself...

The best part??? It only costs  $1.99! [That would be the cheap thrill part...]

Now, I can't give an absolutely perfect review considering I haven't worn it all day or anything. Still, if this product can go the whole day without flaking or giving you that" spidery" look, I'll give it 5 stars. I was pleasantly caught off guard by the smoothness in application and how it dried fairly quickly to allow me to build upon each coat...

I personally love for my lashes to look long, so I did about 3 swipes to get em looking real good! [Remember to wriggle the brush as you go...] You like the look??!

Yeah, ya do! Now go on and get a tube of your own... I promise, it's worth it! ♥

Hope everyone had a wonderful start to their week! Sweet dreams...

L...O...T...D...

Happy Monday everyone! I trust you all are doing well??!! It has been hella crazy with the weather here... Sometimes snow flurries, then the next moment temperatures mimicking a crisp fall day??? What next?!

Anyways, today was a little uneventful. Just work and then some YouTube surfing. However, I was inspired to play with some makeup afterwards...

Wanna see???

Aren't I adorable? I love this look! I had purchased an eyeshadow trio by the Sally Hansen/Carmindy collaboration line and I thought the shadows were going to be a lot darker than this... however, I actually like the way the blue looks. It's smoky without being overpowering. I paired it with a frosty pink lip gloss and a bright candy-colored blush. When you add these ingredients together, you get an unbelivably innocent look. I could almost get away with anything, no?

Let me tell you what I used:

Face:
NYX blush in Pinky
Nars blush in Orgasm (used for shimmer/highlight)
...surprisingly no foundation or tinted moisturizer!

Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Ocean Eye palette
NYC eyeliner in Black/Ebony
Almay One Coat Thickening mascara in Blackest Black
NYC Browser kit in Brunette

Lips:
Rosebud Strawberry Lip Balm
NYX Goddess of the Night lip gloss in French Kiss
Lip Smacker Squeezy lip gloss in Pink Lemonade (used for minimal shine)

Some of these products sound as sweet as cotton candy! And before you even ask, yes, I am in my pajamas. I had gotten out of the shower and just went to work on this look... If you noticed, my hair is all curled up too... I was inspired by some of the short hair tutorials people had to offer and tried something new. One of my favorites referenced Selena Gomez's curly up do. I put my own spin on it and here's a closer look at what I came up with...

...from the front...

and the back.

What do you think? It seems to make me look like I have more hair... I dunno. Anyways, I just wanted to take the time to share with you. Hope you liked my look, and thank you for stopping by for a little while!

Kisses! ♥

hello mama!

And I would like to present my mom!

Isn't she like the most gorgeous person ever???!

I'm totally posting these pictures because she let me add a little oomph to her face. By no means did she need it, but I like to practice... and this was the result! I didn't need much to enhance her features. I threw some peach colored shadows on her lids, Wet N' Wild's Cherub eyeshadow in her inner corners, lined her rims in HIP's black gel liner, three coats of Rimmel's Glam'Eyes Mascara and a light dusting of a rose colored blush on the apples of her cheeks. There you have it! One of the prettiest faces you've seen this side of the Midwest! I dunno... can you tell by her pics that she likes it too?

Hope everyone has had a happy Tuesday! ♥

she is a peacock in everything but beauty.

I found this picture online and it inspired me to do a look...

I've always liked the look of peacock feathers and was quite pleased with my creativity! That... and who just doesn't like playing in makeup? Sometimes I like to see where my mind is going to take me. This is where it led me to:

I didn't have the greatest Monday, so it was nice just to do something fun! Here's what I used...

LA Splash Splash Proof Sealer/Base
e.l.f. Duo Eyeshadow Cream in Olive (the light green side)
CoverGirl Queen Collection Eyeshadow in Emerald (on lid)
Hard Candy Kal-eye-descope Baked Eyeshadow Duo in Ab Fab (the purple side in outer corner)
Wet N' Wild Mega Eyes Eyeshadow in Cherub (inner corner)
Sally Girl Eyeshadow in Blue Marine ($1!!!!, far corner)

Mr. Wilde would have to change his statement now...  ;)

gorgeous!

Just checking in...

It was a slow-going Monday. Not bad, but not great or exciting either. Boo! I still looked cute though. Wanna see??? Yeah, ya do...

Didn't do much with my mug... I didn't even use any foundation. Just brushed on a few pats of blush, rimmed the eyes with a sheer pink shadow (Cherub by Jane Wet N' Wild) and slapped on Rimmel's Vinyl Gloss in Smitten. Sometimes simple is best!

Here's another shot of the whole outfit...

You can't really tell, but my shoes and hat are both green! That's my little pop of color for the day.

Hat: H&M $5
Dress: Kohls for like $10??
Scarf: Walmart $5
Tights: Walmart $3
Shoes: Payless ...?

Did anyone have a really exciting start to your week? ;)

LOTD...

And here we are again... I thought I would toughen it up a little today. I tried out the Loreal HIP Metallic Shadow Duo in Gilded. I had been searching for this for the longest time! Everytime I stopped by the HIP display to pick it up, it was gone! But finally, I found it in Target (the last one, mind you...), and it was on sale. The shadows are already affordable, especially for the quality of the product. I really love this eyeshadow pairing. It's glitzy and eye-catching without being over-the-top. I paired it with a few extras and came up with this look!

Face:
Skindinavia T-Zone Makeup Primer
Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse foundation in Caramel
CoverGirl TruBlend concealer in #5
Prestige Skin Loving Minerals Sunbaked Bronzer in Rich Bronze
Rimmel Poweder Blush in Peach
Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
e.l.f. Duo Eye Shadow Cream in Black Licorice [black side]
Loreal HIP Metallic Shadow Duo in Gilded

Loreal HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Black
Flirt! Big Flirt Thickening Mascara in Black Wink
Lips:

...all that smoky black plus peachy-keen lips equals one tough, but cute looking chick! ♥
